Venue Info

Established in 1899, most people refer to it as the perfect English cricket ground. Situated on the banks of a lake, it is lined a tree and the cathedral spire forms a stunning backdrop. It has a capacity of only 4500, but one feature of the ground that has been striking and consistent has to be the Ladies Pavilion, which churns out cakes during the tea interval. . During winter, New Road is often considered to be more suitable for rowing or water-skiing than cricket, as the proximity to the rivers cause regular flooding and most of the seasons matches are not played because of the water logging. The first ODI was played during the 1983 World Cup between West Indies and Zimbabwe.
