10.37pm  In pursuit, it was not a smooth sail, but since the target was not too demanding, Kovai took their time to settle down. S Sujay, the opener, spent some time in the middle to gauge the conditions as he played a pivotal role in this successful chase. The bowling from Trichy was decent, especially the effort of Daryl Ferrario, but it was their batting letting them down this evening, like in the other games.

10.35pm  An easy win for Kovai this evening! They turned up with full force with the ball, and winning the toss made them execute their plans in a better way. The bowlers set the early tone inside the Powerplay, especially Manimaran Siddharth, where they pegged Trichy four times and from thereon, there was no recovery. Once Kovai gained the upper hand, they strengthened their control, and it was very clinical from their bowling unit throughout the innings. Ganga Sridhar Raju's 58 and Ravi Rajkumar's late contribution helped Trichy barely cross the 115-run mark, but that was never going to be enough.

6.34pm  Trichy have found it difficult to put in a good performance so far due to the lack of runs from their batters as they have failed to post a competitive total on board against Dindigul and Salem in their previous two outings. Ganga Sridhar Raju, K Mani Bharathi, and Ravi Rajkumar have shown some glimpses of form with the bat but they are yet to find a batter who will score the first half-century for their side. Their bowlers have not had a decent total to defend and have found the going tough. They boast of a strong bowling contingent that comprises T Natarajan, Easwaran K, and G Godson but the management has looked to play around with their combination. 6.31pm  Kovai won their first encounter on the opening day of the competition against Tiruppur as they registered a comprehensive victory by 70 runs. A narrow loss against Nellai pegged them back slightly but they managed to return to winning ways against Chepauk. The side led by Shahrukh Khan has been in superb form with the bat led by Sai Sudharsan who has scored three-half centuries in the three games played so far. He is yet to be dismissed by a bowler as he was run out in the first two matches and remained unbeaten last time around. U Mukilesh, Suresh Kumar, and the skipper have contributed with the bat as well. It has been a complete effort by all the bowlers in the tournament so far as most of them have been in the wickets and they look like a formidable side on paper.
