8.18pm  Right then, that is all from this game. Ireland emerge victorious in this game and keep the three-match T20I series alive. It is all to play for in the third and final T20I between Ireland and Zimbabwe. That game will be played on Sunday, 15th January and it will begin at 4.30 pm IST (11.00 am GMT). Do join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
8.16pm  Ross Adair is the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 65 runs from 47 balls. He says that it’s massively important for him to contribute whenever he gets the chance. Adds that he had a chat with the team and they discussed assessing the conditions and batting accordingly. Closes out by saying that he had faith in the lower order that they would take the side over the line after he got dismissed.
8.15pm  Andy Balbirnie, the skipper of Ireland, says that he is happy with the way pulled it back in the innings. Adds that it allowed them to restrict Zimbabwe to a chasable total. Shares that it was all about building partnerships and credits Ross Adair for the way he batted after the Powerplay. Also says that Harry Tector is a high-quality player. Ends by saying that he is happy to get over the line and win gives the team confidence.
8.12pm  Craig Ervine, the skipper of Zimbabwe, says that they should have gotten over 160 after the start they got. Adds that they had built a good platform but lost 2-3 wickets at the wrong time. Says that they got 50 odd runs in the Powerplay and should have got near 160 in the end. Lauds Ross Adair and says that he batted extremely well and it was not easy pitch to bat on. He hopes that Sean Williams and Gary Ballance are back for the third T20I. Ends by saying that lot of guys like playing here because of the crowd and how they get behind them.
8.08pm  Time for Presentations...
8.08pm  Earlier in the game, after being asked to bat first, Zimbabwe were off to a good start scoring 52 runs in the Powerplay. The batters looked in charge and as a result, Zimbabwe had a platform set to post a huge total. However, they lost wickets in a clump and lost their way in the second half of their batting effort. As a result, the hosts failed to capitalize in the back end of the innings and had to settle for a lower total. With not a big total to defend, Zimbabwe had their backs against the wall and their bowlers gave it their all but enough to get the win in this game.
7.59pm  Having failed to post a daunting total on the board, a lot was riding on the Zimbabwe bowlers and they needed to strike early. They did manage to keep the runs in check in the Powerplay but failed to take any early wickets. Ryan Burl was brought on in the middle overs and he struck to break the opening stand. After that wicket, they failed to keep the pressure on and lost their way against Ross Adair and Harry Tector. They did manage to take the game till the last over but with a low total on the board, they could not get over the line in this game. Despite the loss, Ryan Burl was the star with the ball with two wickets while Tendai Chatara and Richard Ngarava took a wicket each.
7.57pm  Ireland do it the hard way but chase down the total with two balls to spare. With this win, they make it 1-1 and keep the series alive. In their pursuit of 144, Ross Adair and Andy Balbirnie got the visitors off to a decent start. Ross Adair took the back seat in that partnership and it was Andy Balbirnie who kept the scoreboard ticking. After the dismissal of the skipper, Ross Adair took charge with support from Harry Tector and put on a 59-run stand. Ireland were put in a spot of bother as they lost both set batters but George Dockrell and Curtis Campher held their nerves towards the end and saw Ireland home in the final over.

6.14pm  Right then, Ireland have done a good job with the ball to restrict Zimbabwe and the onus is now on their batters to chase down this total. Will they chase it down and keep the series alive? We will find out shortly. Back in a bit for the chase..
6.11pm  Opting to bowl first, Ireland started with spin and were rewarded with an early wicket. However, they failed to keep the pressure on and leaked a lot of runs in the middle overs. At the halfway mark, Ireland were on course to chase a huge total but they clawed their way back into the game with some quick wickets. They kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals and did not allow Zimbabwe to maximize in the back end of the innings. Graham Hume was the pick of the bowlers for Ireland with figures of 3 for 17 from his four overs. Harry Tector took a couple of wickets while Mark Adair and Gareth Delany chipped in with a wicket each.

At 86-3, they were going along nicely and looked set to post a daunting total. However, the dismissal of Craig Ervine triggered a mini collapse and the hosts lost their way from thereon. Informs that Gary Ballance misses this game due to concussion and he will be replaced by Innocent Kaia.

Their bowlers were right on top from the start and kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Ryan Burl was the star of the attack with 3 for 29 from his four overs. The chase started slowly and they lost a few wickets upfront but Gary Ballance and Sean Williams batted sensibly through the middle and got them over the line. Will the hosts take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series or will we see the visitors making it 1-1?  We shall find out. Toss and team news coming up shortly.
3.34pm  Having been sent into bat first in the first T20I, Ireland could never really get going in their batting effort. Gareth Delany, Stephen Doheny and Curtis Campher got into double figures but could not carry on. As a result, they were bundled out for a paltry total of 114. Their bowlers did put up a fight and made the run-scoring difficult for the Zimbabwe batters. Harry Tector and Mark Adair were the positives for them with the ball taking 2 wickets each. Irish fans will hope for a much better display with the bat and a win that will keep them alive in the series.
3.30pm  Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the 2nd T20I in the 3-match T20I series between Zimbabwe and Ireland at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. They will look to wrap the series with a win in this game while the visitors will look to force a series decider.
3.30pm  ... MATCH DAY …
13 Jan, 4.16pm  It is now time for the second T20I between Zimbabwe and Ireland at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The hosts started the three-game series in fine fashion as they bulldozed the opposition and got to the finish line, taking a crucial 1-0 lead in the series. Zimbabwe have a great opportunity to continue the same form and kill the series with a game to spare. Ireland on the other hand have been handicapped a bit in the batting department and will need to play to the best of their abilities to get the series back on level terms. In the first game, Zimbabwe assessed the conditions well and it was an all-round performance with the ball. The pacers, especially Tendai Chatara bowled well but it was really the efforts of the spinners, Ryan Burl and Wellington Masakadza that got the opposition batters in a fix. With the bat though, the hosts' top order also faltered but the cool and experienced head of Sean Williams proved to be decisive for them. Ireland were out of sorts with the bat but with the ball, they showed a lot of fight. Harry Tector was surprisingly good with his off-breaks and their frontline pacer Mark Adair was on top of his game as well. If the batters are able to do well, then the visitors will have a good shot of winning this game. The conditions in Harare do offer a bit to the bowlers and the batters will have to be watchful before they can play the big shots. All in all, it should be an exciting watch. Who are you backing?
