4.42pm  Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of India Women is also the Player of the Match for scoring a half-century and taking her side across the finish line. She says that she is really happy as it was a complete team effort. Claims that she wanted to see how the debutants bowled in the first six overs and they showed how important they could be to the side. Adds that Deepti Sharma did remarkably well too. Mentions that Smriti Mandhana is always ready to give her 100% and showed her abilities once again. Ends by saying that when you have batters like Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana, they are not worried and they wanted to finish the game early.

4.35pm  Nigar Sultana, the captain of Bangladesh Women is in for a chat. She says that they were 20-25 runs short on this kind of wicket. Mentions that they started well with the bat, but in the middle overs they could not really find the boundaries and that took the game away from them. States that there were too many dot balls in their innings.

4.28pm  Bangladesh Women could not really maintain the pressure with the ball in hand, after starting on a positive note. They were not so good at fielding as well as Harmanpreet Kaur was dropped early on. There is a reason why they say catches win matches, if this one was taken then things could've panned out in Bangladesh's favor. Coming to their bowling department, it was only Salma Khatun who stood out with the ball with her brace, while the rest of the bowling order kept leaking runs without causing any trouble.

4.26pm  Marufa Akter was on the money with the new ball, and such that she even got rid of the dangerous Shafali Verma on a duck. Although, Marufa Akter could not really hurt any other Indian batting order in her spell of three overs. Jemimah Rodrigues looked solid when she came in to bat but slipped out early after hitting a few boundaries. Despite losing two quick wickets, India Women's batters held their nerves in this chase of a modest total. Smriti Mandhana put her cracking shots on display for everyone to see, and slowly and gradually got her side back in the game with the help of her skipper. The third-wicket stand of 70 runs between the two did all the damage and helped India to take an early lead in this series away from home.

4.20pm  With the way Bangladesh started their innings with the ball, it looked like India would be in some kind of trouble, but it was the third-wicket stand between Smriti Mandhana and the India Women skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur which certainly put the game to bed. Eventually, the skipper led from the front and racked up the winning runs to hand her side a 1-0 lead in this T20I series.

4.05pm  Yastika Bhatia is the new batter at the crease.

3.51pm  Drinks break! Bangladesh Women got off to a solid start with the ball, but the third-wicket stand for India has started to hurt them now. Bangladesh Women does not have many runs to defend here and if Smriti Mandhana sticks around for long, she could get her side over the line with ease.

3.24pm  Harmanpreet Kaur is the new batter out in the middle.

OUT! CHOPPED ON! Jemimah Rodrigues who was looking so solid, has to walk back to the dressing room, as she gets unlucky this time. This bowling change has done wonders for Bangladesh Women and they are certainly on top here. It is a short ball, outside off. Jemimah Rodrigues stays back and tries to cut it away off her back foot. Although, Jemimah Rodrigues ends up getting a thick inside edge, which changes the direction of the ball and it ends up hitting the sticks behind.

OUT! LBW! Marufa Akter draws the first blood here. A dream start for Bangladesh Women as they get rid of Shafali Verma on a 3-ball duck. Marufa Akter with a pace-up delivery, on a fuller length, swinging late into the batter. Shafali Verma shuffles and tries to clip it to the leg side but does not get anywhere near the ball. She gets pinged on her pads. An appeal is made and the umpire raises his finger in a flash.

3.08pm  We are back for the run chase as the umpires make their way out to the middle. The Bangladesh Women players take their respective positions on the field. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana will open the inning for India Women and will want to get a good partnership going here. Marufa Akter has the new ball in his hand and is ready to begin proceedings. 3.08pm  ... THE RUN CHASE ...

3.07pm  This should be a routine run chase for India Women but the strength of the hosts is their spin bowling attack. If the slower bowlers can get some purchase out of this wicket and take some early scalps we could be in for a cracking game. Will Bangladesh Women be able to make a game out of this? 3.05pm  Pooja Vastrakar started with a maiden as the Bangladesh Women openers got off to a circumspect start. Shamima Sultana decided to go after the debutant Minnu Mani and played some cracking shots but it was one too many as she perished looking to be aggressive. Shathi Rani had started slow but got a move on just to find her stumps shattered by Pooja Vastrakar. The skipper Nigar Sultana was a victim of some misunderstanding as she was left stranded in the middle of the pitch. Sobhana Mostary was in the middle for a while getting 23 in 33 deliveries till she got stumped off the bowling of Shafali Verma. Shorna Akter helped finish strong scoring an unbeaten 28  in 28 deliveries but the hosts will not be comfortable with the score they have on the board. Deepti Sharma did not take any wickets but was economical as she conceded just 14 runs in her four overs.

3.00pm  Bangladesh Women have tried their best but will feel that they are 20 runs short of a competitive total! They managed to preserve their wickets but were unable to get the required momentum towards the end and managed to accumulate just 114 runs in their quota of 20 overs. They will now have to produce an outstanding bowling effort to keep the star-studded India Women batting under check. Harmanpreet Kaur will be relatively happy with her bowlers as they kept it tight despite not taking wickets in a bundle and will want her batters to put in a professional performance and get over the line.

OUT! RUN OUT! Good fielding from Jemimah Rodrigues. A short ball, on off, Akter mistimes her pull to deep mid-wicket. They decide to go for the second run which was never there. The throw from Jemimah Rodrigues is on money to Pooja Vastrakar at the non-striker's end. The umpire takes it upstairs and the third umpire confirms that Ritu Moni is short of the crease.

OUT! STUMPED! Shafali Verma comes out of syllabus for Sobhana Mostary and she certainly does the trick here. India get their fourth wicket now. It is very full, outside off. Sobhana Mostary dances down the track and tries to smack it downtown, although, the ball grips and turns in a touch, to go past her inside edge. 2.20pm  Shorna Akter is the new batter in.

OUT! RUN OUT! Disaster for Bangladesh Women as their skipper is a victim of some misunderstanding in the running between the wicket and she has to take the long walk back to the hut! This is tossed up full and wide outside off. Nigar Sultana knocks this towards cover-point and sets off for a run. Sobhana Mostary sends her back though and the throw comes in from Amanjot Kaur. Yastika Bhatia whips this bails off at the striker's end and Nigar Sultana is well short of the crease. She does not look too happy with her partner as Bangladesh Women lose their third wicket.

2.15pm  DRINKS! Bangladesh Women got off to a circumspect start but the debutant Shathi Rani added some impetus to their innings. She did lose her wicket and the rest of the batters need to keep up with the momentum. India Women will look to control this phase with their spinners and put some pressure on their opposition as they hunt for wickets. Will Bangladesh Women be able to get to a competitive total? OUT! TIMBER! Incredible movement and Pooja Vastrakar picks up her first wicket of the game. Pace-up delivery, on a length, that lands outside off and nips back in off the deck. Shathi Rani fails to read the movement this time, she thinks that it is in her arc, and tries to smack it through the line. Although, the movement of the ball gets the better of her and she ends up talking a stroll down to the dressing room.

OUT! CAUGHT! Minnu Mani has the last laugh here as she picks up a massive wicket on debut! This is floated full and outside the off stump but much slower in the air. Shamima Sultana goes for one shot too many as she looks to sweep this over the boundary. She is deceived by the lack of pace and ends up hitting it high towards the deep square leg fielder. Jemimah Rodrigues comes running in from the deep and takes a comfortable catch to help India Women draw first blood.

1.29pm  The match is set to begin. India Women players can be seen to be in a huddle before they spread out on the field. Followed by Shathi Rani and Shamima Sultana who walk out to open for Bangladesh Women. It will be Pooja Vastrakar to start with the new ball. Here we go...

1.25pm  Nigar Sultana, the captain of Bangladesh Women now joins us for a chat. She says that they wanted to bat first and put a score on board. Claims that she can not say how the wicket will play right now but feels that it should be a good wicket to bat. Mentions that they want to put a good score on the board with Indian Lineup, they hope to get to the 140-run mark. Informs that they have one debut with coming into the side and they are looking forward to see how she performs. Informs that Shathi Rani is on her debut.

1.25pm  Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of India Women says that they will look for breakthroughs in the Powerplay, and hopes to restrict them to a lower score. Informs that chasing might get difficult if the rain comes in the picture. Mentions that they will try to play free cricket and execute their plans to perfection.

12.40pm  Bangladesh Women are an upcoming side and if the performance of their youngsters in the 2023 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is any indication of the talent they have, it won't be long before this side throws up a serious challenge to the bigger sides in the world. They will be counting on their experienced batting line-up to match up against some of the biggest stars in women's cricket. The pace bowling setup is pretty thin but they will be banking heavily on their spinners in home conditions. They have a great opportunity here to beat a much-fancied side ahead of the Asian Games and build some confidence. Will they be able to topple their mighty opponents? 12.35pm  India Women have been struggling to make it big despite having a very talented squad. They have stumbled close to the finish line in several major tournaments so far and will be looking to change this in the near future. The introduction of a Women’s T20 League in India is bound to throw out some talented individuals and they could be well on course to strengthen their chances of taking their challenge one step further. They have a strong and experienced batting line-up that could be devastating on their day but some of the pace bowling seniors have been dropped for this series. Their deficiencies in pace will be covered by the potent spin bowling attack they possess and the slower bowlers should enjoy themselves on the Sher-E-Bangla pitch.
