Charlie Hara-Hinze is a left-handed batter and left-arm orthodox spinner who has emerged through Japan's youth and senior setups. He made his T20I debut against Maldives in 2024, having previously represented Japan Under-19s, and has steadily become a regular bowling option for the senior side.
His breakthrough bowling performance came against Indonesia in the 2024 East Asia-Pacific Sub-Regional Qualifier, when he claimed 5/6, his maiden five-wicket haul in T20Is. He followed that with another impressive spell against Vanuatu in May 2026, taking 2/21 as Japan won by 30 runs at the newly built Korogi Sports Park.
Hara-Hinze was also part of Japan's Under-19 side that recorded a win over Tanzania at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup, gaining valuable experience before establishing himself at senior level. His progress has now earned him a place in Japan's squad for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, where he is among the players set to represent the hosts on the continental stage.
