Amit Paunikar is a wicket-keeper batsman from the state of Maharashtra. He hails from the city of Nagpur and has played domestic cricket for Vidarbha. His first-class debut for Vidarbha came against Services in the year 2007. He hit a brilliant maiden century in the second innings which included 17 fours and 2 sixes.

He was bought by the Rajasthan franchise in 2010 for season 3 of the Indian T20 League. He will now be playing for the Hyderabad franchise in the 2014 edition.
