Achini Kulasuriya is a Sri Lankan cricketer who has represented the
national women’s side since 2015. She is primarily a bowler, known for her right-arm slow-medium deliveries and a slingy action that helps her generate movement and control.
She started her career appearing in domestic competitions in Sri Lanka, representing the provincial and club level teams, in domestic women’s cricket, contributing with both the ball and occasional useful runs. In domestic and Sri Lanka A matches she has also had spells of success with multiple wickets.
She made her ODI debut in November 2015 against New Zealand and
her T20I debut shortly after, in the same month, also against New
Zealand. Over her international career she has been used mainly as a
bowler. She has been part of Sri Lanka’s squads in major tournaments including the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, the 2022 Commonwealth Games qualifiers and the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and she was also named in the squad for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Kulasuriya continued to be a key member of the Sri Lankan squad. She was included in the side for the tri-series against India and South Africa that served as preparation for the Women’s ODI World Cup. In February-March 2025 she was named in the squad for the tour of New Zealand. Then in September 2025 she was selected in Sri Lanka’s 15-member squad for the Women’s ODI World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.Â
