Mushfiqur Rahim and Khaled Mashud have undoubtedly been two of the most successful wicketkeeper batters in Bangladesh’s cricketing history. Their fans are hoping that the emergence of Nurul Hasan and Litton Das can carry forward the legacy in the times to come. Litton Das is a right-handed wicketkeeper batter representing Bangladesh. Hailing from Dinajpur, Litton began his professional career by playing junior-level cricket in his country.
He impressed one and all with his performances at that level, and as a result, he made his first-class debut for Dhaka Division during the 2011–12 National Cricket League season. He has also represented Bangladesh at the 2012 and 2014 Men’s Under-19 World Cups. In both editions, he had an average of over 50 but his actual rise began during the 2014–15 domestic season when he amassed 1024 runs in the 2014–15 National Cricket League and finished as the highest run-getter in the competition.
Litton was rewarded for his impressive showing with a maiden call-up to the national side for the T20 series against Pakistan. However, he did not get a chance to play in that series. He finally made his Test and ODI debut for Bangladesh in the home series against India. In July 2015, Litton made his T20I debut against South Africa at home. Other than the Bangladesh Premier League, he has also plied his trade in the Caribbean Premier League, appearing for the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Litton Das became Bangladesh’s Test vice-captain in 2022 and hit top form across formats. In March 2023, he smashed a 18-ball fifty against Ireland - the fastest by a Bangladeshi in T20Is back then and played a key role in the historic 3–0 T20I series win over England. Das played vital roles in Comilla Victorians’ BPL title wins in 2022 and 2023, and captained them to the 2024 final. He hit a blazing 55 in the 2023 final and was later named team captain. In January 2025, he responded to national team omission with a thunderous maiden T20 hundred -125 off 55 balls for Dhaka Capitals - the second-fastest century by a Bangladeshi in BPL history. Alongside Tanzid Hasan, he also scripted the highest opening stand in BPL history (241 runs) and the second-highest ever in men’s T20s. He had a brief stint with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 but played only one match. Across T20s, he crossed 5,000 career runs that year and continued to impress with the gloves, registering 21 catches and 5 stumpings in 2024 alone.
