Emily Windsor is an experienced English middle-order batter and right-arm medium-pace bowler who represents Durham and Sunrisers Leeds. Hailing from Portsmouth, Windsor has spent more than a decade as a consummate professional and a proven big-match performer on the English domestic circuit, building a reputation for delivering when it matters most and famously scoring the winning runs in major national finals.
Windsor’s career began in Hampshire, where she progressed through the county age-group ranks before making her senior debut in 2013. A breakthrough 2015 season highlighted her all-round capabilities, as she scored a career-best 99 and returned figures of 6 for 23 in the same List A match against Northamptonshire. She went on to become a key figure for the Southern Vipers, establishing herself as a dependable middle-order anchor in pressure situations. Her big-match pedigree was firmly underlined in the 2021 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy final, where her unbeaten 47 helped the Vipers recover from 109/7 to secure a dramatic title victory, earning her the Player of the Match award. She produced another match-winning performance in the 2023 final, scoring an unbeaten 57 to guide the Vipers to another trophy, while also winning the 2022 Hundred title during her stint with the Oval Invincibles.
Away from the field, Windsor has built one of the most multifaceted careers in English sport. With a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, she balances her playing commitments with a part-time role as a paediatric physiotherapist in Durham Cricket’s Science and Medicine Department. She also regularly works as a cricket commentator and broadcaster for the BBC.
After hip surgery delayed the start of her 2025 season, Windsor made an immediate impact on her return to action for Durham. She top-scored in key run chases in the T20 Blast before following that up with consecutive half-centuries in her first two List A appearances for the club. Her experience, leadership and consistency subsequently earned her a contract extension through 2027. In July 2026, her wealth of short-format experience was once again called upon when she joined Sunrisers Leeds as an official squad replacement for The Hundred, further underlining her status as one of the most trusted and adaptable middle-order batters in the country.
