6.06pm  Right then, that's all from this game. Australia have bounced back in convincing fashion and have levelled the series. On the other hand, it was a forgetful game for India and they need to start afresh in the series decider. The third and final ODI of the series will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, 22nd of March. The first ball will be bowled at 1.30 pm IST (8.00 am GMT). As always, you can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
6.03pm  Mitchell Starc is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant five-wicket haul. He says that he has learnt his trade over the years. Adds that he has been in good rhythm of late and was able to swing the ball. Mentions that his conversation are different from those like Cameron Green or Marcus Stoinis as they bowl different lengths. Tells that both wickets helped the seamers and adds that his plan is to attack the stumps.
6.02pm  Steven Smith, the victorious skipper of Australia, says that the bowlers were outstanding in this game. Adds that Mitchell Starc put India under early pressure and he was complimented well by other bowlers. Shares that he did not know how the wicket would play and did not have any totals in mind. Feels that it was just about going out there and putting the batters under pressure. Mentions that it was one of those days where they nicked everything and it went into hands. Credits Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh for the start and for putting pressure on the opposition bowlers. Also says that it was a good day and he is really proud of the effort. Ends by saying that he is glad the ball stuck in his hand since Hardik Pandya is an unbelievable player.
5.56pm  Rohit Sharma, the captain of India says that is a bit disappointing to lose like this and they did not play to their potential. Adds that they could not apply themselves with the bat and says that this was not a 117 pitch at all. Tells that whenever they were trying to build a partnership they kept losing wickets which was not ideal. Mentions that when he and Virat Kohli added 30-35 runs quickly, they thought about putting pressure back on Australia, but he lost his wicket and then a couple more which put them on the back foot. Credits Mitchell Starc for his bowling effort and says that he has always been a quality bowler and bowled to his strengths and kept the batters guessing by swinging the ball both ways. Reckons Mitchell Marsh is one of the top players going around when it comes to power-hitting.
5.53pm  Presentation Time...
5.45pm  Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head are in for a quick chat. Marsh says that they had fun and it was important to get off to a fine start. Shares that he made sure he was watching the ball. 5.39pm  Earlier in the game, after being asked to bat first, India were bowled out for a mere total of 117 runs courtesy a five-wicket haul from Mitchell Starc. The hosts would have been disappointed with that effort, and will need to work on that. However, they would have thought to make some early inroads and put pressure on the Aussie batters, but failed to do so and in the end, the opening pair of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head eased past them to chase the total in no time which makes the 3rd ODI a bit more interesting now.
5.35pm  Australia knew that they needed a good start when they came out to bat and try not give any openings to the hosts. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head did exactly and smashed each and every bowler out of the park. They made this chase look like a cakewalk. Marsh remained unbeaten on 66 with six massive hits and off just 36 balls while Head also registered an unbeaten half-century. However, this win was set up by the bowlers and in the end they level the series in some style. Australia also becomes the only team to win an ODI against India by 10 wickets. India, on the other hand will need to erase this game from their memories and come out with a positive intent in the decider.

4.33pm  ... THE RUN CHASE ...
4.05pm  Right then, Australia will undoubtedly be the happier side at the halfway mark and they are on a course to level the series. This is India's 4th-lowest ODI total in India which sums up the kind of day they have had with the bat but the onus is now on their bowlers to replicate what their counterparts did. Can the Indian bowlers make a match out of this? We shall find out shortly. Back in a bit for the chase.
4.03pm  Sean Abbott is in for a flash interview. He says that there was some help from the wicket. Adds that Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green set the tone with early wickets. Mentions that Starc was clinical in this game. Tells that they were not expecting that much movement, but there was a lot of rain and that is why they saw swing early on as well as a bit of seam. Ends by saying that they should chase this total down, but you don't know the par score until both teams bat and says that they will try to put pressure on the Indian bowlers and reckons it will be a good contest.
4.02pm  In what has been their Achilles heel, India have once again capitulated to left-arm swing bowling. Having been sent into bat, India were dealt an early blow losing Shubman Gill on the third ball of the game. Virat Kohli joined Rohit Sharma in the middle and the pair was quick to pounce on anything loose. Just when India were going along nicely, they were pegged back as they lost two wickets in quick succession. Moreover, KL Rahul could not carry on from the last game and was dismissed for a low score. Hardik Pandya followed him soon to a spectacular catch from Steven Smith, which made matters worse for the hosts. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja did get together to resurrect the innings but neither of them was able to convert their start to a big score. Towards the end, Axar Patel struck a few lusty blows as he was running out of partners but the departure of Mohammed Siraj brought an end to India's troubles with the bat.
3.52pm  Australian bowlers have vindicated their skipper's decision to bowl first and how. A dominant bowling display led by Mitchell Starc has helped them bowl India out for a paltry total of 117. Like the first ODI, it was Mitchell Starc who set the tone early, accounting for Shubman Gill. After that early scalp, he did lose his radar on a few occasions but bounced back striking twice in two deliveries. He then went on to remove the in-form KL Rahul to put India in more trouble. After being brought on as the first change, Sean Abbott came to the party as well to reduce India to 49-5. Having picked in the side for this game, Nathan Ellis dismissed Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja to break the back of the Indian batting lineup. Sean Abbott then went bang, bang before Mitchell Starc claimed the final wicket to finish with figures of 5 for 53.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill makes up the opening pair for India. Mitchell Starc has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's play...
1.12pm  Rohit Sharma, the skipper of India, says that it is a dry pitch and it has been under covers for a long time. Adds that they will now look to bat well and defend it later. Feels that it is important to stay calm and colllected. Also says that it is important to make the right decisions. Mentions that he is not too sure how the wicket will play but hopes that there is turn on offer in the evening. Ends by informing the two changes in their team. Ishan Kishan makes way for him and Axar Patel replaces Shardul Thakur.
1.11pm  Steven Smith, the skipper of Australia, says that they will bowl first. Adds that it looks like a decent surface and it was under cover so there might be something. Tells that they got to a reasonable start in the last game, but building partnerships in the middle will be crucial. Mentions that it is a good learning experience for them to play on these kinds of wickets as the World Cup will be played here and is not too far away. Says they just have to play good consistent cricket and informs that they have made two changes. Nathan Ellis comes in for Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey is back for Josh Inglis.

Ajit Agarkar joins him and tells that this is black soil wicket and there are some cracks, but it won't effect much. Says that as the pitch was under cover, batting might be a bit tricky at first, but it will get better as the game goes deep and teams will like to chase in this game.
12.45pm  On the other hand, Australia had an off day with the bat, but Mitchell Marsh was one of the positives for them. Mitchell Starc and Marcus Stoinis bowled their hearts out in the second half, but a low total meant they were unable to defend it. Australian fans will be hoping that their side can put in a complete performance and draw level in the series. Will the visitors manage to force a series decider? Or will we see the hosts gain an unassailable 2-0 lead? Let’s find out. Toss and team news coming up shortly...
12.45pm  In the first ODI, a clinical effort with the ball led by Mohammad Shami saw them bundle out Australia for 188. While chasing, they were off to a shaky start, but KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja steadied the ship for the hosts and got them over the line. India will look to put on an improved batting display in their quest to make it 2-0. Moreover, they will be delighted by the return of their regular skipper, Rohit Sharma.
12.42pm  Hello and a warm welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to our coverage of the 2nd ODI between India and Australia at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Having emerged victorious in the first ODI at Mumbai, India hold a 1-0 lead heading into the game. The hosts will be hoping to seal the series with a win in this game, whereas Australia will look to bounce back and take the three-match ODI series to a decider.
12.41pm  ... MTCH DAY ...
18 Mar, 8.44am  With the kind of batting ability witnessed on the field in the first ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia, it would not be amiss for the fans to have expected a high-scoring encounter. Instead, it was the pace bowlers that ruled the roost at the Wankhede Stadium with the hosts managing to take an early 1-0 lead in the series ahead of the second game at the Dr. Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy Cricket Stadium at Visakhapatnam. India will be eager to clinch the series in this fixture and keep the winning momentum alive before they move to Chennai for the final tie of this tour. It was Hardik Pandya who led the hosts in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who returns for this game, and he won the toss before electing to bowl first. It was a good bowling performance on a pitch that had swing on offer and they bundled out the visitors for a paltry score of 188 with the pacers claiming 7 of the 10 wickets that fell. Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj were right on the money claiming three wickets each with the skipper chipping in with one. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav were among the wickets and with the pitch expected to be more conducive to spin in Visakhapatnam, we could see either Axar Patel or Washington Sundar make it to the team as an all-rounder in place of Shardul Thakur. India stumbled early in the run chase as their top order was dismantled by some outstanding swing bowling. Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav were all dismissed cheaply with Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya not able to convert their starts. They needed an unbeaten 108-run partnership from KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja with the former scoring a half-century to get the team over the finish line. Batting first, Australia lost Travis Head early but an attacking 72-run partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Steven Smith along with another half-century partnership when Marnus Labuschagne joined Mitchell Marsh helped them set up a good platform. However, they were bowled out under 190 after being 129 for the loss of two wickets as their middle order failed to perform. Mitchell Marsh scored 81 in just 65 balls and looked completely at home in the opener's slot. They went with just three front-line bowlers and had three all-rounders in the form of Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green to cover their remaining overs. Mitchell Starc and Marcus Stoinis opened the bowling and claimed the 5 wickets between them but none of the other bowlers could get any breakthroughs with Adam Zampa proving to be quite ineffective. David Warner and Alex Carey were ruled out of the first game but could be available for selection in this match and the Aussies need a strong response to level the series. Will they be able to get back on level terms? Or will India continue their winning run in ODIs and seal the series? We will find out soon.
