Liverpool vs Strasbourg
Anfield
August 1st, 00:00
Liverpool take on Strasbourg just over 24 hours after winning the Community Shield. The Reds will be playing a second-string team as Klopp wants every player to get minutes.
Liverpool did not have a great pre-season as they lost to RB Salzburg and Manchester United. However, they defeated Manchester City yesterday and will be confident of a good start to the season.
Strasbourg have had a tough pre-season but lost just once. They lost to Cagliari last week but were unbeaten in three games before that.
Liverpool are facing Strasbourg for the first time in recent history.
Liverpool: Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Kostas Tsimikas, Caoimhin Kelleher, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calvin Ramsay are ruled out.
Strasbourg: No player is ruled out.
Liverpool: Hughes; Gomez, Konate, Van den Berg, Milner; Jones, Morton, Keita; Carvalho, Nunez, Elliott
Strasbourg: Sels; Dagba, Djiku, Perrin, Nyamsi, Delaine; Sissoko, Bellegarde; Thomasson; Ajorque, Diallo
Darwin Nunez: The young striker scored the final goal yesterday to seal the win for Liverpool. He will be keen on getting more minutes today and another goal or two.
Curtis Jones: The Englishman will be looking to impress and get a starting spot for Liverpool. He will be a good pick for captaincy as he could get on the scoresheet.
Ludovic Ajorque: The best pick from Strasbourg as he was their top scorer last season with 12 goals. He has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, and could use this opportunity to impress the scouts.
